Cutover Manager – Major Transformation Program

We’re partnering with a leading organisation in the utilities sector to secure an experienced
Cutover Manager
for a critical, enterprise-wide transformation. This is a high-impact role where you’ll lead complex system transitions in an environment where operational continuity is essential.
Based in Melbourne, this role will require occasional travel to regional Victoria
to support key cutover activities and stakeholder engagement.
The Opportunity
You’ll take ownership of end-to-end cutover planning and execution across multiple interconnected systems, including legacy decommissioning, GIS implementation, and the rollout of a major enterprise asset management platform.
This is a hands-on leadership role — you’ll be driving planning, aligning stakeholders, and leading execution during high-pressure go-live periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an integrated cutover strategy, including detailed runbooks across all phases (pre, during, and post go-live)
- Coordinate cutover activities across multiple systems, vendors, and business units, ensuring dependencies and risks are actively managed
- Lead data migration activities including data freeze, validation, reconciliation, and alignment with downstream reporting requirements
- Oversee go-live execution, including running the command centre, managing real-time issues, and ensuring delivery against plan
- Establish and manage cutover risks, including contingency and rollback planning, with a focus on service continuity and data integrity
- Drive stakeholder alignment and provide clear reporting to senior leadership and governance forums
About You
- Proven experience leading cutover delivery for complex, enterprise-scale system implementations or decommissioning programs
- Strong understanding of data migration processes, including validation and reconciliation in integrated environments
- Experience coordinating multiple workstreams and vendors across tightly coupled systems
- Comfortable operating in high-pressure environments, with a track record of delivering successful go-lives
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences
- Highly organised, with strong planning, documentation, and execution capability
Nice to have:
exposure to IBM Maximo, ArcGIS (Esri), or experience within utilities, infrastructure, or public sector environments.
