About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced business-to-business Credit Officer to join a busy Credit & Finance team for our care services client, operating in the community sector. This role focuses on managing a commercial debtor portfolio, ensuring timely collection of outstanding accounts while maintaining strong professional relationships with business clients.

This position suits someone who enjoys negotiation, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced environment where they can take ownership of their ledger and drive outcomes.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of commercial accounts and overdue balances
  • Contacting business clients to follow up outstanding invoices and negotiate payment terms
  • Investigating and resolving account queries and disputes
  • Performing account reconciliations and maintaining accurate debtor records
  • Setting up and monitoring payment arrangements
  • Assessing credit risk and escalating accounts where required
  • Contributing to process improvements within the credit function

About You

  • Experience in credit control or collections role
  • Experience managing a debtor ledger and collecting from commercial clients
  • Strong negotiation skills and confidence handling difficult conversations
  • Understanding of credit risk, payment terms, and escalation processes
  • Intermediate Excel and strong attention to detail
  • Professional communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients
  • Reliable, organised, and able to manage a high-volume ledger
