About the Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the corporate tax accountant will play a critical role in managing tax compliance across a complex, multi-entity structure, while also contributing to the tax aspects of M&A transactions and broader group strategy. This position offers exposure to senior leadership and involvement in high-impact commercial decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare and review income tax returns, tax provisions, and reconciliations across the group
- Deliver consolidated tax reporting and support group-level financial reporting obligations
- Manage indirect tax compliance (BAS, FBT, payroll tax) across multiple jurisdictions
- Support the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and related-party reviews
- Partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders on tax compliance and planning
- Provide commercial tax advice on strategic initiatives, including M&A transactions, capital investments, and group restructures
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, risk mitigation, and value creation through tax
About You
You are a detail-oriented and technically strong tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment. You have the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and enjoy applying your tax knowledge to business strategy, especially in relation to M&A and structural change.
You will ideally bring:
- A degree in accounting, commerce, or a related discipline
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
- Solid experience in corporate tax, either in-house or in public practice (Big 4 highly regarded)
- Strong working knowledge of Australian tax law and compliance requirements
- Exposure to M&A or corporate structuring is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across functions
