Iberdrola is now recruiting for a Control Centre Systems Engineer to provide technical support to the Control Centre operations across wind, solar, gas and battery energy storage assets. The role is based in the Sydney CBD office.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Control Centre Systems Engineer will support, maintain and develop the operational technology and control centre systems that will enable the safe, secure and reliable operation of Iberdrola Australia renewable energy assets.

The role provides day-to-day technical support to Operations Control Centre (OCC) operations and contributes to system improvements, deployment projects and global standardisation initiatives. It also acts as a technical interface between Operations, Energy Markets, Engineering, IT, OT, Cybersecurity, global teams and third-party suppliers.

Some specific responsibilities include:

· Proactively manage the availability, integrity and performance of control centre systems, including SCADA platforms, OT servers, communications, data historians and system interfaces.

· Develop, configure, test and maintain Control Centre system functionality, including SCADA applications, HMIs, alarm management, historian systems, interfaces, calculations, reporting and data integrations.

· Maintain, configure, test, patch and upgrade OT and control centre systems in live operational environments, with minimal operational impact.

· Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis and coordinate resolution with internal teams, vendors and external suppliers.

· Participate in control centre deployment and evolution projects, including design reviews, factory and site acceptance testing, commissioning and operational handover.

· Contribute to global initiatives through collaboration, standardisation and adoption of best practices and global architectures.

· Support the integration of new renewable assets, technologies and data sources into the control centre environment.

· Support OT asset lifecycle management, including obsolescence planning, upgrades and replacement activities.

· Comply with applicable regulatory requirements and OT cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures.

· Manage and implement changes in accordance with the OT Change Management process.

· Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, procedures, configuration records and system records.


About You

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in engineering, automation, IT/OT or similar and strong experience in a similar role within energy or renewables (preferred).

Experience configuring, supporting or administering PcVue SCADA systems will be very well regarded.

Your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, resulting in exceptional performance.

You will be able to work in a very hands-on, flexible and practical manner while thinking strategically, and you will be comfortable and able to travel interstate to both office and site locations when required.
