Davidson is excited to be partnering with Iberdrola Australia on the delivery of the VNI West Project, a critical piece of Australia’s energy transition. This landmark transmission project will strengthen the national grid and support the integration of renewable energy across Victoria and New South Wales.
To support the successful project set-up, we are seeking a Compliance Specialist to play a pivotal role in ensuring the project and broader business operates to the highest standards of regulatory, ethical and governance compliance.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager Compliance and working closely with the VNI West Project team, this role offers a unique blend of project-based compliance and enterprise-wide governance exposure.
You will be instrumental in embedding compliance frameworks across a major infrastructure project while supporting the ongoing implementation of Iberdrola’s global Compliance System. Your role duties will predominantly support the VNI West Project team, however you will also help administer the implementation of Iberdrola Australia’s Compliance System and governance frameworks. Your key duties will include:
- Support the identification, documentation and management of regulatory, contractual and operational compliance obligations
- Assist in implementing systems and processes to ensure project compliance
- Monitor and assess compliance risks and consequences of non-compliance
- Support compliance reporting to senior leadership and the Board
- Identify emerging risks, including new regulatory or licensing requirements
- Assist in embedding key programs including the Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption & Anti-Fraud and Whistleblower Program
- Conduct third-party risk assessments (fraud, corruption, partnerships, transactions)
About You
To be successful in this role, you are a proactive and detail-oriented compliance professional who thrives in complex, project-driven environments. You bring a minimum of five years’ experience across compliance, risk, audit or legal functions, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Compliance or a related discipline. You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and are confident working across multi-disciplinary teams, with demonstrated experience operating within regulated environments. Exposure to infrastructure, transmission or renewable energy projects will be highly regarded, along with knowledge of best-practice compliance systems and governance frameworks.
