Davidson is partnering with our client who is seeking an experienced Engagement Officer (Level 5) to join their engagement branch on a five‑month contingent assignment.


About the Role

As an Engagement Officer (Level 5), you will work under general direction within a small, high-performing community engagement team. In this role, you will provide advice, support and delivery of engagement activities, helping to strengthen how our client communicates, collaborates and builds relationships with key stakeholders and the broader community.

You will contribute to engagement planning, communications, project representation and capability building across the organisation, ensuring high‑quality engagement approaches that support positive and informed community outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively within a small team of engagement professionals to deliver community engagement advice, support and activities.
  • Identify opportunities to communicate our client’s involvement in projects, highlight progress and successes, and support the collection of community feedback where appropriate.
  • Represent our client on projects they have an interest or investment in, including involvement in project planning, monitoring, reporting, engagement, communication, and change management processes.
  • Provide high‑quality advice and support across the organisation relating to engagement planning, design, delivery, reporting and evaluation, contributing to consistent and effective engagement practices.
  • Apply best‑practice engagement methodologies to build organisational capability, including identifying training opportunities and maintaining a skills and experience register.
  • Assist in identifying, defining and analysing key stakeholder groups and communication channels to support standardised and effective communication efforts.
  • Contribute to the management of sensitive issues, especially those affecting our client’s relationship with community members and constituents.


About You

  • Relevant professional qualifications and/or substantial equivalent experience in community engagement, community relations, corporate communication, media relations and/or marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering or supporting community engagement activities in a complex organisational environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to analyse stakeholder groups and support effective communication strategies.
  • Ability to apply best‑practice engagement approaches and contribute to capability building across an organisation.
  • Sound judgement when dealing with sensitive community issues.
  • A current Class C driver’s licence.


Benefits

  • $66.00 per hour + Super
  • 5-month Contingent Government assignment.
