About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an immediately available Communications Officer to join a busy communications team on a contract through to 1 December.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing engaging content across multiple channels while supporting media, stakeholder and digital communications activities. This role requires someone who can work with urgency, manage competing priorities and produce high-quality communications in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing media releases, articles, newsletters and stakeholder communications
  • Translating complex research and technical information into engaging audience-focused content
  • Developing and publishing content across digital and social media channels
  • Managing website content and updates through a content management system
  • Supporting media engagement activities and monitoring media coverage
  • Assisting with stakeholder communications and research dissemination initiatives
  • Coordinating communications support for events, webinars and campaigns
  • Supporting content reporting, analytics and engagement activities

About You
You are a confident communications professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly produce high-quality content across multiple channels.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in communications, public relations, media, journalism or a related discipline
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience developing media releases, articles, newsletters and stakeholder communications
  • Strong ability to translate complex or technical information into clear and engaging content
  • Experience managing website content using WordPress or a similar CMS platform
  • Knowledge of social media content creation and digital communications
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive, collaborative and hands-on approach

Candidates from government, education, research, science, health or technical communications environments will be highly regarded.
