The Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions business unit plays a central role in long-term growth planning, infrastructure delivery and engineering excellence. As Unitywater continues to support rapid regional growth and infrastructure demand, a pivotal opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Advisory Manager to drive capability and performance across planning and delivery teams .
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Commercial, Risk and Advisory, the Commercial Advisory Manager plays a critical leadership role within Unitywater’s Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions (SIS) group. Leading a team of up to 10 professionals across Contract Administration, Commercial Advisory and Governance, this position drives strategic commercial outcomes across Unitywater’s capital works portfolio.
You will be responsible for integrating commercial strategy and operational delivery, offering end-to-end advisory support throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure projects. From planning through to delivery, your work will ensure commercial rigour, effective risk management, and best-practice governance across contracts, systems and external partnerships.
This role is key to enhancing commercial performance across Unitywater’s growing capital portfolio. You will lead uplift in contract management capability, resolve complex contractual matters, design new systems and processes, and embed a culture of continuous improvement in commercial and risk governance. As a senior advisor and leader, you will contribute to strategic planning, shape cross-functional alignment, and ensure commercial outcomes support Unitywater’s long-term sustainability and growth.
Working across key internal and external stakeholder groups including Integrated Delivery Teams, the Executive Leadership Team, and key delivery partners you will influence the future of capital project execution at Unitywater .
Our Ideal Candidate
You are an experienced commercial leader with a strong background in contract management, capital works delivery and infrastructure advisory. With a degree in Business, Law, Finance, Engineering or a related field, you bring over 7 years of experience supporting capital programs in asset-intensive industries ideally water, wastewater or similar regulated infrastructure sectors.
You thrive in complex environments and have a proven ability to design and lead commercial strategies that drive value, reduce risk and support sustainable project outcomes. With deep knowledge of ISO standards, governance frameworks and regulatory compliance, you are equally comfortable in a boardroom, project office or stakeholder meeting.
Your leadership style is collaborative and pragmatic you coach and develop high-performing teams, influence senior decision makers, and drive commercial maturity across projects and teams. You bring experience leading commercial advisory services that span the entire project lifecycle and are comfortable advising executive teams on strategic investments and commercial decisions.
