GeelongPort is Victoria’s second largest port located within Victoria’s largest regional city, Geelong. Managing close to 14 million tonnes of cargo and 600 vessel visits per year, GeelongPort supports the agriculture, construction, energy and tourism sectors. As Victoria’s premier bulk port and a major driver of Victoria’s economy, GeelongPort facilitates more than $7 billion of trade annually and provides land, infrastructure and services to facilitate trade for some of Victoria’s largest businesses. The location of GeelongPort makes it of high strategic significance for Victoria, providing easy access to logistics routes for trade through critical road, rail, air and channel connections for Geelong and south-west Victoria’s supply chains. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer and part of a small team, you will be responsible for the following:
Customer and Portfolio Management:
Managing GeelongPort’s delegated property and customer portfolio ensuring outcomes are aligned to the businesses’ trade growth objectives. You will maintain relationship with key customers of GeelongPort, ensuring customers are well informed of current commercial market conditions and provide evidence-based value-added services and freight solutions. This will include overseeing the effective management of commercial leases and customer contracts, rate reviews and other contractual related obligations.
Strategic Market Analysis:
Provide regular market updates on key trades and emerging market opportunities. In addition, you will provide strategic advice, analytics and reporting to the GeelongPort Leadership team to inform strategic decisions and mitigate risk to the business as required.
Business Development:
Key to your success in this role will be your ability to identify and drive strategic business development and growth opportunities with existing and future commercial customers across the business to maximise trade growth.
You will engage across the organisation to identify and create attractive business solutions to fulfil customer needs.
You will bring demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with diverse range of stakeholders, including commercial customers and key internal stakeholders to inform and support strategic decision making. Formal qualifications in business, finance, or related commercial discipline will be highly regarded.
