The Opportunity
This is a hands-on Cloud DevOps Engineer contract where you will help modernise software delivery and uplift cloud infrastructure through automation and Infrastructure as Code, shaping DevOps standards, improving reliability, and embedding security by design across a large transformation program.
About the Role
You will be joining a delivery team to improve delivery pipelines, automate environments, and strengthen platform reliability and observability.
- Design and build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (including state and locking practices)
- Champion DevSecOps and GitOps ways of working
- Automate and manage cloud environments (AWS, plus exposure to Azure and Confluent)
- Support modern hosting patterns across containers and serverless
- Build monitoring and observability to track performance and reliability
About You
You are a pragmatic engineer who can own outcomes end to end, and you are comfortable working across build, release, security, and operations.
- Strong AWS experience (VPC, ECS, serverless, IAM, etc.) and deep IAM knowledge
- Solid DevOps/SRE capability (CI/CD, observability, incident response, reliability)
- Strong Terraform skills (provisioning, modules, state, locks, patterns)
- Scripting skills in Python and Bash (Java helpful, Node.js a bonus)
- Advanced Git capability (branching strategies, PRs, reviews, IaC workflows)
- Strong networking fundamentals (DNS, CIDR, subnets, firewalls, load balancing)
