Davidson Technology are working with a large Federal Government Agency to secure multiple Cloud Architect’s on an initial contract to 30 ^th June 2026 with the option of 3 x 12-month extensions.


About the Role

As a Cloud Architect, you’ll be engaged to play a critical role in department’s cloud modernisation program, supporting the delivery of the Digital Strategy 2025–2030 through strong architectural leadership and governance. You’ll provide expert solution and cloud architecture guidance to high-priority, high-visibility programs, develop high-level designs and blueprints that align business needs with target-state architecture while ensuring value for money and alignment with shared services. You will lead the design of future-state cloud capabilities, including cloud operating models, landing zones, SaaS lifecycle roadmaps, and the migration of legacy systems to cloud-native or hybrid environments. You’ll embed security-by-design principles in compliance with government frameworks, support SIEM capability uplift, and contribute to the consolidation of data platforms through modern cloud data architectures, enabling scalable analytics and AI capabilities while establishing robust architectural and data governance across the department.


About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll possess strong enterprise architecture capability, demonstrating proven application of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, and DAMA within complex government environments. You will bring deep technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, leading the design of secure, scalable cloud-native and hybrid solutions, including the development of cloud operating models, landing zone architectures, SaaS lifecycle roadmaps, and the migration of legacy applications to future-state platforms. With a strong focus on data architecture and hands-on data engineering, you’ll design and deliver modern cloud data platforms, data pipelines, and architectures that enable enterprise analytics and AI, while establishing robust technical data governance standards. You will require strategic thinking beyond day-to-day operations, active participation in architectural governance and design authorities, and exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for senior executives and effectively engage vendors and delivery partners.

You MUST be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain baseline security clearance.
