About the Role
We are seeking experienced Transmission Line Engineers (both civil/structural and electrical) to join Iberdrola and the VNI West Project team.
Based in the Melbourne CBD, reporting to the Engineering and Design Manager, these roles will be responsible for developing and delivering the electrical, civil and structural engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed engineering design for transmission networks projects. This will include providing the necessary basic and detailed engineering specifications and designs for projects, innovation, effective technical support, advice, coaching and input throughout the lifecycle of the Project, while ensuring compliance with standards and providing expertise to project teams.
Some specific responsibilities include:
- Assess engineering documentation, feasibility and compliance with client requirements and support the preparation of accurate budgets for new projects
- Recommend construction techniques, sequence of works and input to construction program of works where required in relation to electrical/civil/structural works
- Responsible for preparing basic and detailed electrical, civil and structural engineering specifications, designs and costs for the Project
- Responsible for providing technical assessment of tender submissions and reporting recommendations to client.
- Define electrical/civil/structural requirements for input to Project Technical Specifications and other documentation
- Preparation/Review of electrical/civil/structural drawings and specifications for design, construction, procurement or other stakeholders
- Ensure civil/electrical engineering designs and specifications are in accordance with current legislation, policies and operational requirements
- Provide technical support to the Pre-Contract and Project Delivery teams on matters concerning the design, construction and operation of transmission lines and associated components
- Conduct progress, co-ordination and interface meetings with the team, client and contractors
- Attend and lead internal and external commissioning meetings and liaise with equipment manufacturers
About You
To be considered for this career opportunity, it is expected you would possess:
- A recognised Tertiary Engineering qualification
- Experience with electrical or civil or structural engineering design works experience for electrical network transmission projects
- Significant knowledge of safety regulations concerning engineering and design works
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with a high-performing team
- Analytical mindset, quality outputs, detail focus and critical thinking
- Ability to prepare reports with information relevant to multidisciplinary staff at various levels
- Negotiation, conflict resolution and influencing skills with focus on stakeholder management, to create and maintain effective relationships
- Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and efficiency
- Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual with strong collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interfacing effectively with crossfunctional internal groups of all level and competencies.
