- Australia’s largest not-for-profit disability service provider
- Lead large-scale service operations across eastern Australia
- Be part of a values-led executive team driving sector-leading transformation
Scope is Australia’s largest not-for-profit disability service provider, supporting more than 1,260 active clients across Supported Independent Living, therapy, employment and social connection services
At Scope, we create meaningful opportunities for people with disability to belong and thrive. Our vision is to empower clients and employees to live their dreams while influencing positive change for people with disability.
Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connection, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services. Scope has managed revenue of $510M and employs circa 6200 personnel across 400 service locations within Victoria and NSW.
Operating at scale in a highly regulated, reform-driven NDIS environment, Scope is entering its next phase of strategic execution, operational maturity and long-term sustainability focus.
We are now seeking an exceptional executive to join the organisation as Chief Operating Officer (COO) — a role that represents a critical evolution in operational leadership and enterprise accountability.
As a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, the COO is accountable for the end-to-end leadership, performance and long-term sustainability of Scope’s operations. This is a rare opportunity to lead a large, complex, purpose-driven organisation through a period of operational stabilisation, disciplined transformation and sustainable growth. The role combines enterprise-scale portfolio management with deep commercial stewardship, quality governance and cultural leadership, within a not-for-profit context, balancing mission with fiscal rigour.
We are seeking a seasoned enterprise executive who can:
- Lead at scale across geographically dispersed, highly regulated human services environments
- Operate confidently at Board and ELT governance level
- Drive disciplined commercial performance in a not-for-profit context
- Orchestrate complex portfolios while creating clarity in ambiguity
- Balance purpose-led leadership with fiscal rigour
- Navigate regulatory scrutiny and stakeholder complexity
- Lead through reform, growth, M&A or significant transformation
This is a defining leadership opportunity to shape the operational future of one of Australia’s most significant disability service organisations. If you are a commercially astute, purpose-driven enterprise leader with the courage to lead through complexity and the capability to deliver disciplined transformation at scale, we welcome your interest. Experience in disability services or adjacent regulated human services is strongly preferred.
Scope Australia offer hybrid working arrangements and this role is based at their Hawthorn office. A competitive salary is on offer, which also includes NFP/PBI salary packaging and free onsite parking. Please note you will be required to hold a NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance and a Working with Children Check or be prepared to apply for one. The employment offer will be conditional on meeting these requirements.
