Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is a leader in vocational education and training, supporting thousands of students to develop skills that drive Victoria’s workforce and economy. We are seeking an accomplished and strategic technology leader to take on the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO). Reporting to the Chief Experience and Technology Officer, you will ensure BKI’s ICT foundations are modern, reliable and responsive, enabling improved services across the Institute.
Key priorities for the CIO include:
- Technology strategy and architecture: Refresh and refine enterprise architecture to deliver scalable, integrated platforms that support business outcomes.
- ICT modernisation: Rationalise and uplift core systems, reduce technical debt and deliver dependable, fit-for-purpose services.
- Integration and economies of scale: Drive effective TAFE system integration and leverage opportunities across the broader network.
- Cyber resilience and trust: Strengthen cybersecurity, compliance and data governance to ensure a secure operating environment.
- Service culture: Build a customer-focused ICT function, embedding service excellence, agility and continuous improvement.
- Enabling innovation: Provide a secure, flexible backbone that supports responsible adoption of new technologies and enhances staff and student experiences.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
- A proven record of ICT leadership, including modernisation and enterprise integration.
- Strong operational and service management expertise with evidence of delivering uplift.
- Experience in enterprise architecture, cyber resilience and data governance.
- Inclusive and inspiring leadership with the ability to build capability across ICT functions.
- Commercial and vendor management acumen, with success in complex technology partnerships.
- Experience in service delivery environments and/or the public sector will be highly regarded
