Technology plays an increasingly critical role in enabling this mission - supporting frontline services, enhancing digital engagement with supporters and enabling teams operating in diverse environments from metropolitan centres to remote communities. Save the Children is seeking an exceptional Chief Information & Digital Officer to lead the next stage of its technology evolution.
What you will deliver
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer/Deputy CEO, the CIDO will shape and deliver an architecture-forward technology strategy that strengthens the organisation’s ability to deliver impact at scale. Leading a multidisciplinary team spanning emerging tech, digital, data, applications, infrastructure and security, the CIDO will strengthen digital platforms, and ensure technology becomes a proactive, strategic partner to the business. The role will:
- Develop a technology strategy that centres client experience and income generation while balancing cost and risk
- Oversee re-platforming of core enterprise systems
- Significantly enhance digital capabilities that improve engagement with clients and supporters
- Partner with key business leaders and external technology partners to contribute to the organisation’s double income triple impact agenda
As a curious, growth-minded technology partner, you will translate how technology, data and digital will enable the organisation to deliver, driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency and service innovation. You will set and embed a clear technology and digital vision” translating opportunities into a technology architecture roadmap, supported by robust investment cases. You will uplift technology performance and maturity by fostering a high-performing team, strengthening service excellence, and drive sound technology governance to deliver key programs including major core platform implementation. You will also transform end-to-end customer journeys through improved personalisation and digital engagement to improve decision-making and accelerate responsible AI adoption across the organisation. Success will also require building strong vendor and strategic partnerships while ensuring robust governance, cybersecurity resilience and operational performance.

We are seeking a credible, contemporary technology leader with a proven track record of leading technology-enabled enterprise transformation in customer-focused environments. Highly regarded for your curiousity, strategic vision and strong enterprise leadership across technology, data, risk and delivery, with the ability to align stakeholders and translate vision into practical execution. With deep experience in change you are able to combine investment prioritisation, vendor and partnership management, value realisation with a purpose-led approach. Importantly, you have led major transformation across core platforms, integration, data uplift and process modernisation, to drive meaningful service delivery outcomes.
You are a partner-first leader who collaborates and influences at all levels, you’re passionate about enabling high-performing teams and lifting client experience.
