Distinctive Options is a values-driven not-for-profit and registered NDIS provider dedicated to empowering people with disability to live with choice, independence and dignity. With a strong presence across Victoria, we partner with government, corporate and community organisations to create inclusive opportunities and build stronger, more connected communities. Our culture is caring and community-minded, with a genuine sense of purpose that unites staff and leaders alike. At the same time, we are practical and forward-looking, operating in a fast-changing NDIS environment where agility, creativity and resourcefulness are essential. Collaboration and trust sit at the core of how we work, encouraging our people to be adaptable, resilient and solution focused. With a refreshed executive structure and new strategic plan on the horizon, this is a unique opportunity to join a committed leadership team and help shape the next chapter of growth and impact.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial & Operations Officer (CFOO) provides strategic and operational leadership across finance, ICT, risk, compliance, people and culture, and broader corporate services. This pivotal role ensures Distinctive Options remains financially sustainable, operationally efficient, and well positioned to deliver on its mission. In the first year, success will be defined by embedding robust financial systems, strengthening governance and compliance frameworks, enhancing workforce capability, and leading improvements in ICT and operational processes. The CFOO will also play a key role in shaping the strategic plan, ensuring alignment between financial stewardship, organisational growth, and participant-centred service delivery.
To be successful in this role you are a senior finance and operations leader with experience in the not-for-profit, community services, or health/disability sectors. Professionally qualified (CPA/CA or equivalent), you bring a strong technical finance background with a proven track record of managing organisational budgets of similar or greater scale. Strategic yet pragmatic, you have demonstrated experience modernising systems, processes, and reporting frameworks, with a strong affinity for technology, efficiency and automation. Calm, structured and detail-oriented, you build trust by engaging respectfully and consistently, and by translating finance and operations into clear, accessible language. Highly accountable and transparent, you bring clarity to complexity, solving problems in practical, sustainable ways. Above all, you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to a values-driven organisation that is both caring and ambitious, and by the purpose of enabling people with disability to live their best lives.
This role is based at Distinctive Options’ head office in Sunbury, with flexibility to work part of the week from our Brimbank, Bendigo, or Bairnsdale locations.
