Chief Financial Officer

CEO & General Management

About the Company

Sundale is one of Queensland's most respected community organisations, delivering aged care, retirement living and in-home care services to thousands of people across the Sunshine Coast and beyond. With annual revenue exceeding $100 million and a workforce of approximately 800 employees, Sundale is entering a defining chapter in its evolution. Following significant strategic planning and organisational renewal, the business is now moving decisively into execution. With an ambitious transformation agenda spanning finance, technology, procurement, governance and property, Sundale is seeking an outstanding executive to join the organisation as Chief Financial Officer.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional finance leadership role. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team, the CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping Sundale's future as a commercially disciplined, sustainable and high-performing organisation. You will lead the finance function while providing enterprise-wide leadership across several significant business transformation initiatives, including:

  • Financial stewardship, governance and performance uplift
  • Enterprise technology transformation and systems integration
  • Procurement transformation and capability development
  • Capital planning, investment strategy and funding oversight
  • Property development and portfolio optimisation projects
  • Organisational performance improvement and change leadership

This is a genuine C-suite leadership role for someone who wants to influence strategy, drive execution and leave a lasting legacy.

About You

You are a commercially astute executive who combines strong financial leadership with the ability to think strategically and lead transformational change. You are comfortable operating at Board level whilst maintaining a practical focus on delivery and outcomes. Most importantly, you possess the leadership capability to influence across an organisation and bring people with you on the journey.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Proven CFO or equivalent executive leadership experience
  • Experience leading complex transformation and change initiatives
  • Strong financial strategy, governance and risk capability
  • Exposure to technology, procurement and operational improvement programs
  • Capital management, investment and business case development expertise
  • Experience working with Boards and executive leadership teams
  • A collaborative and influential leadership style

Experience within aged care, retirement living, healthcare or similarly regulated sectors will be highly regarded.

Why This Role Stands Out

Sundale has already done the hard work of defining its future direction. Now comes the exciting part. The organisation is embarking on a multi-year transformation journey that includes a technology program, significant property and redevelopment initiatives, governance uplift, procurement reform and the delivery of a long-term growth strategy.

The successful executive will have the opportunity to:

  • Shape and execute enterprise-wide transformation
  • Partner closely with an experienced and highly engaged CEO
  • Influence Board-level decision making
  • Lead critical investment and capital projects
  • Modernise systems, processes and organisational capability
  • Contribute to services that positively impact the lives of older Australians every day

For an executive seeking breadth, complexity, visibility and purpose, opportunities of this calibre are rare.
