Davidson is partnering with Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) to appoint an Executive Director, Finance & Diocesan Services Commission, a pivotal executive leadership role responsible for the financial stewardship and long-term sustainability of one of Queensland's largest and most diverse faith-based organisations.
ACSQ operates across a complex portfolio of parishes, schools, property, community services and ministry operations, with annual revenue exceeding $500 million and investment assets of more than $300 million.
This role goes well beyond a traditional CFO appointment. As a member of the Diocesan Leadership Team, you will provide strategic advice to the Archbishop, Diocesan Council, Finance & Diocesan Services Commission and senior leaders, while leading finance, investments and treasury across the Diocese and property, ICT, human resources and corporate services across Anglican Church operations.
Key priorities include:
- Providing strategic financial leadership across a complex multi-entity environment
- Strengthening financial reporting, governance and organisational capability
- Leading finance systems improvement, automation and transformation initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to diversify income and support long-term sustainability
- Contributing to significant strategic discussions around organisational structure and future operating models
- Driving greater value and strategic outcomes from the Diocese's property portfolio
- Leading and developing a multidisciplinary corporate services team
About You
You are an accomplished CFO or senior finance executive with experience leading within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. You bring strong commercial and financial acumen, sound governance experience and the ability to influence at executive and board level.
You will likely bring:
- Executive leadership experience within a religious organisation, aged care, community services, education or a similarly complex NFP environment
- Strong finance, treasury, governance and risk management capability
- Experience leading transformation, systems implementation and process improvement initiatives
- Commercial acumen coupled with creative and strategic problem-solving skills
- The ability to build credibility, influence and trust across diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience working across complex governance, board or matrix structures
- CA or CPA qualifications
Most importantly, you will be a collaborative and authentic leader who can bring people with you, operate effectively through influence rather than authority, and demonstrate a genuine alignment with the values and mission of Anglican Church Southern Queensland
This is a unique opportunity to combine executive leadership, financial stewardship and organisational impact within a purpose-driven organisation delivering outcomes across communities throughout Southern Queensland.
