GeelongPort is Victoria’s second largest port located within Victoria’s largest regional city, Geelong. Managing close to 14 million tonnes of cargo and 1000 vessel visits per year, GeelongPort supports the agriculture, construction, energy and tourism sectors. The Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially astute Chief Financial Officer to join a high-performing executive team as a key partner in driving long-term enterprise value. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board and investors, you will provide the analytical rigor and capital stewardship necessary to drive alpha across a complex growth trajectory
The CFO will lead the strategic management of the group’s capital, ensuring the balance sheet is optimised to support sustainable expansion. You will bring a disciplined approach to capital deployment, utilising rigorous financial modelling to evaluate strategic partnerships and expansion opportunities. Your expertise in due diligence, financial structuring and institution grade reporting will ensure that every investment decision contributes to a cohesive, high-margin portfolio.
As a proactive enterprise leader, you will look beyond the numbers to provide the performance-based insights required for critical decision-making. You will serve as a vital strategic partner to the leadership team, providing the commercial lens and financial rigour required to accelerate business initiatives while balancing an entrepreneurial mindset with disciplined stewardship.
About You
You will be an accomplished CFO or senior finance executive with a proven track record in complex, growth-oriented environments, bringing deep expertise in financial strategy, capital allocation and value creation. With experience working in a private equity environment, you bring a highly commercial and pragmatic mindset with strong intellectual capability to support financial analysis.
A highly commercial leader, you will have successfully led large-scale, high-impact strategic programs and experience in commercial due diligence, underpinned by strong governance and compliance leadership. Highly regarded for your execution-focused mindset, you bring credibility and influence and are able to engage at Board and executive level to build alignment. Importantly you will be agile and take a proactive, ownership-driven approach to delivering outcomes and driving sustainable value creation.
