Chief Finance Officer

Accounting

About the Company

This large-scale, capital-intensive $1B+ complex organisation operates across multiple major sites and is defined by its operational complexity and scale. With a strong market presence and a unionised workforce, the business is entering a critical phase that requires experienced financial leadership to stabilise performance, strengthen controls, and position the organisation for its next chapter.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this Interim CFO will step in as the most senior finance leader, taking full ownership of the function and acting as a key advisor at executive level.

Leading a team of 15 across eight operational sites, you will provide both strategic direction and hands-on leadership across core finance areas including ASIC compliance, tax, and treasury. This is a role that requires immediate impact. You will quickly assess the current state, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive uplift without destabilising operations.

You will play a central role in strengthening governance, risk, and financial controls, while also influencing broader business performance. As a member of the Risk Committee, you will contribute to improving procurement practices, enhancing accountability, and embedding more disciplined decision-making across the organisation.

Alongside this, you will focus on building capability within the finance team, developing talent, improving structure, and setting the function up for long-term success.

About You

You are an experienced CFO or senior finance leader with a track record in complex, capital-intensive environments. You bring strong technical capability across governance, tax, treasury, and regulatory frameworks, combined with the commercial acumen to influence performance at a business-wide level.

You operate as a true partner to the CEO, able to challenge, guide, and support decision-making. You are equally comfortable engaging at all levels, from executive through to site-based teams, and can build credibility quickly across a diverse workforce.

Your leadership style is pragmatic and grounded. You know how to drive change and uplift performance without overcomplicating or disrupting what is already working.

Experience in unionised environments and leading geographically dispersed teams will be highly regarded.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact interim mandate with genuine scope to influence the direction of a complex organisation.

You will work closely with an experienced CEO, shape key financial and operational decisions, and leave a lasting imprint through stronger governance, improved performance, and a more capable finance function
