The opportunity
We are looking for experienced Business Analysts to join the Davidson Technology Consulting team in Brisbane.
These roles will add capacity to an existing business and technology transformation program through to December 2026. You will work as part of the Davidson team, supporting business analysis across discovery, process analysis, requirements, testing and implementation.
We're looking for Business Analysts who do more than document what stakeholders ask for.
You will think critically, challenge constructively and identify the underlying business problem before moving towards a solution. You will help stakeholders separate requirements from preferences, future state from current state, and business value from noise.
That means asking the right questions, testing assumptions and helping stakeholders reach clear, practical decisions. Your role is to understand what the business needs to achieve, then translate that into clear, well-defined and testable requirements.
What you will do
You will:
- Lead and support discovery to understand the underlying business problem, objectives, constraints and desired outcomes.
- Elicit, analyse, document and validate business and functional requirements.
- Distinguish genuine business requirements from preferences and proposed solutions.
- Challenge assumptions constructively and help stakeholders evaluate what is needed to achieve the intended outcome.
- Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or incomplete information.
- Develop current-state and future-state process maps, workflows and business rules.
- Identify dependencies, risks, gaps and impacts across people, process, technology and data.
- Define clear, testable requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain requirements traceability through delivery and testing.
- Facilitate workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
- Translate between business and technical teams without moving prematurely into solution design.
- Support testing, requirements validation, defect resolution and implementation activities.
- Contribute to governance by providing clear, evidence-based analysis to support decisions.
- Keep analysis focused on business value and the intended outcomes throughout delivery.
What you will bring
You are an experienced Business Analyst who can operate effectively in complex transformation, technology or enterprise systems environments.
More importantly, you know that good Business Analysis is not simply about capturing requirements.
You can listen to what stakeholders are asking for, understand why they are asking for it and determine the underlying need. You are comfortable challenging thinking respectfully, separating facts from assumptions and helping people work through competing priorities.
You will bring:
- Strong critical thinking and practical problem-solving skills.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and respectfully.
- The ability to distinguish requirements from preferences and proposed solutions.
- The ability to separate current-state constraints from genuine future-state needs.
- A clear focus on business value and intended outcomes.
- End-to-end experience across discovery, process analysis, requirements, testing and implementation support.
- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation skills.
- Experience developing process maps, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to work confidently across business and technology teams.
- An understanding of how strong requirements support governance and delivery confidence.
- A pragmatic approach to documentation and governance that supports delivery.
- Able to start work from October 12th
Highly regarded
Experience in one or more of the following areas will be valuable:
- Government, local government or broader public sector environments.
- ERP or enterprise systems transformation.
- SaaS or cloud-based enterprise platforms.
- TechnologyOne or OneCouncil.
- Programs involving multiple workstreams, vendors or delivery partners.
- Agile, hybrid or traditional delivery environments.
- Business process optimisation, change impacts and business readiness.
ERP experience is preferred, but it is not essential. Strong Business Analysis experience in comparable transformation environments will also be considered.
Why join this engagement?
You will join an established Davidson Technology Consulting team and provide additional capacity across an active transformation program.
You will work alongside Davidson colleagues and client stakeholders to solve real business problems. Your contribution will help create clearer requirements, improve alignment between business and technology teams, and support informed decisions through delivery.
This is an opportunity for Business Analysts who enjoy getting beneath the initial request, making sense of complexity and helping teams focus on what will deliver genuine business value.
