The Opportunity
We are seeking a Azure Data Developer for a 6 month contract opportunity. This role will support the design and build of retained-data solutions for non-migrated data, including closed customers/accounts, historical records, internal documents and decommissioning evidence
Working as part of the Davidson Technology Consulting team in a hybrid model with 4 days onsite required, you will help implement Azure-based data objects, data marts, pipelines and reporting/query layers that support auditable data retention, controlled access, lineage, reconciliation, logging and extraction capability.
About the Role
- Develop Azure-based data objects, data marts, data pipelines and reporting/query layers.
- Support retained-data solution design and build for non-migrated RACQ data.
- Implement auditable data retention structures, access controls, data lineage, reconciliation, logging and extraction capability.
- Work closely with the Solution Architect, Data Migration Lead, Business Analysts and control / data owners.
- Contribute to technical documentation, handover artefacts and decommissioning evidence.
- Support structured delivery in a regulated environment where governance, quality and auditability are important.
About You
- 5+ years' experience developing Azure-based data objects, data marts, data pipelines and reporting/query layers, preferably in Financial Services or another regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Synapse / Fabric, Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks or equivalent Azure data services.
- Experience supporting data retention, historical data access, archival, decommissioning, migration or legacy platform retirement would be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of access controls, data lineage, reconciliation, logging and extraction requirements.
- Comfortable working with architecture, data migration, business analysis, control and data-owner stakeholders.
- Strong documentation discipline and ability to produce clear artefacts that support governance and sign-off
