About the Company

Our client is a large, globally connected organisation operating in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement and collaboration. They are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team on a 12-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their accounting experience in a hands-on role with exposure across month-end, reporting and operational finance.

About the Role

Reporting to a senior member of the finance team, you’ll play an important role supporting daily finance operations and assisting with month-end activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with month-end close activities, journal preparation and account reconciliations
  • Managing daily bank reconciliations
  • Processing and reconciling company credit cards, travel expenses and staff reimbursements
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers including additions, disposals and depreciation schedules
  • Supporting financial reporting and analysis activities
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies
  • Assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks and process improvements as required

About You

You will ideally bring

  • Previous experience in an Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similar accounting role
  • Strong reconciliation experience across bank accounts and transactional finance processes
  • Exposure to month-end activities including journals and reporting support
  • Experience managing expenses, credit card reconciliations or fixed assets will be highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working within finance systems
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support across the broader finance function
