About the Company

Join a fast‑moving and innovative business based in Fortitude Valley. The open‑plan office is energetic, collaborative, and growing quickly. You’ll be part of a capable finance team that values proactive problem‑solving, clear communication, and continuous improvement. As they continue to scale, this role offers genuine progression and the chance to help shape the finance function.

This is a 100% in‑office role, with a flexible start time up to 9:00am.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment—particularly those who have worked within start‑ups or rapidly growing organisations.

First 6 Months: Accounts Receivable Focus

Your primary responsibility will be to take full ownership of end‑to‑end Accounts Receivable, including:

  • Managing the full AR cycle
  • Improving invoicing, collections, and reconciliation processes
  • Partnering with internal teams to resolve queries
  • Identifying and implementing workflow improvements

We’re looking for someone who is hands‑on, systems‑savvy, and excited to build, refine, and uplift AR processes.

After 6 Months: Progression & Broader Scope

As the business expands, we plan to grow the finance team by introducing a full‑time AR Officer.

At that point, this role has the potential to transition into a Team Leader position with broader Assistant Accountant responsibilities, including:

  • Bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Month‑end journals, reporting, and analysis
  • Support with audits and tax lodgements
  • Oversight of AR processes and mentoring of junior staff

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a clear career progression path.

About You

You will thrive in this role if you bring:

  • 2–3 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or Finance Officer position
  • Strong AR capability and a drive to improve processes
  • A proactive mindset and comfort working in constantly evolving environments (start‑up experience highly regarded)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Tech‑savvy approach with the ability to learn systems quickly
  • A high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and initiative

The Benefits

  • Permanent, full‑time role
  • Flexible start time (up to 9:00am)
  • Competitive salary: $80–85k + super
  • Central Fortitude Valley location with a vibrant, social office culture
  • Opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the company expands
  • A supportive, high‑performing finance team invested in your development
