Davidson is working with a federal government client who is seeking an experienced Senior Administrative Officer with experience in contract development and management for either Brisbane, Canberra, South Australia, Melbourne.
About the Role/s
The Senior Administrative Officer is required to deliver high quality input and professional services in the Business Operations Branch. This role involves applying creative and innovative approaches to complex and sensitive issues, and managing multiple competing priorities to enable timely, effective and coordinated information whilst displaying a high attention to detail.
- Manage low to medium risk contracts and/or categories, including governance, risk, performance and financial management;
- Develop low to medium risk contracts and procurement documentation, including contract and/or category management plans;
- Comply with and advise on government procurement and contract management policies to drive value for money outcomes;
- Support the monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on risk and contract performance against KPIs and requirements, and support the implementation of strategies to drive value for money and outcomes;
- Explore innovative procurement and contract management solutions to solve complex contractual issues;
- Manage and analyse contract expenditure to ensure operation within the budget and the achievement of value for money outcomes;
- Apply and advise on contract variations, exemptions, extensions, expiry and any relevant transition management, making appropriate decisions based on risk;
- Advise on the use of procurement and contract management systems to maintain accurate contract records and ensure compliance with procurement and contract management requirements;
- Interpret contract requirements, terms and conditions and ensures that all parties understand and deliver on their responsibilities;
- Manage productive stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders, central governance, budget and reporting teams, and represent the team at internal and external meetings.
- Interpret and apply government and department policies to guide decision making, establish compliant processes, assess requests and information, determine priority work, or identify matters to be escalated to managers.
- Develop and maintain records, processes and administrative materials (including leave calendars, distribution lists, accommodation rosters) that are consistent with the department and government policy, to support management business decisions and reporting obligations, including developing a shared collaboration spaces for the branch.
- Develop and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives, completing work to a high standard and within prescribed timeframes.
About you
- Experience in low to medium risk contract development and management;
- Knowledge of Government procurement and contract management policies, issues and strategic directions;
- High level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to prepare correspondence of a complex nature;
- Ability to work with independence, subject to limited direction against established priorities, practices, and methodologies, to deliver quality outcomes and meet operational deadlines;
- Knowledge of legislative, financial and administrative frameworks, government decision-making processes and agency guidelines and regulations;
- Demonstrated research, analytical and conceptual skills to optimise outcomes and solve complex problems;
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, and flexibility and responsiveness to address urgent, ad hoc and unforeseen matters;
- Experience using Microsoft office tools including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and the departments systems to manage reports and business materials;
- Experience as a senior member of a team supporting others to achieve targeted outcomes.
- Military experience/knowledge is desirable but not essential.

- $65.03 to $73.85 + Super (PAYG Agency Contractor)
- 12-month contract

- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
