About the Role
An opportunity exists for an experienced APS6-level Procurement Officer to join on a 12-week labour hire engagement based in Canberra.
This role will provide specialist procurement advisory and operational support, ensuring procurement activities are compliant with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA Act). You will work closely with stakeholders to deliver effective, compliant and value-for-money procurement outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing accurate and timely procurement advice across the full procurement lifecycle
- Partnering with business areas to identify procurement needs and encourage early engagement
- Creating, updating and maintaining procurement records in TechOne and BuyICT
- Managing AusTender approaches to market, panel arrangements and reporting obligations
- Developing clear and practical procurement documentation aligned with best practice
- Supporting contract establishment, management and supplier relationship activities
- Promoting APS values, workplace integrity and contemporary governance practices
This is a fast-paced and hands-on role suited to a procurement professional confident operating at APS6 level.
About You
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience working within Commonwealth procurement frameworks
- Strong knowledge of the CPRs and PGPA Act
- Hands-on experience with TechOne, AusTender and BuyICT
- Experience supporting end-to-end procurement processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory capability
- The ability to produce clear, audit-ready documentation
- Training in CPR and PGPA compliance is required.
- Completion of, or progression toward, a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting will be highly regarded.
- You must hold and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
