Our client is a leading organisation delivering secure and scalable cloud solutions within a fast-paced enterprise environment. They are seeking an experienced AWS Database Administrator to support and optimise critical database platforms hosted in AWS.
About the Role
We are looking for an AWS DBA with strong experience managing AWS RDS environments across production systems.
You will be responsible for database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and ensuring high availability across cloud database platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting AWS RDS environments
- Performance tuning and SQL/query optimisation
- Monitoring databases using CloudWatch and related tools
- Managing backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes
- Troubleshooting production issues and conducting root cause analysis
- Supporting database patching, upgrades, and security controls
- Working closely with developers and infrastructure teams
About You
- Experience administering AWS RDS environments
- Strong knowledge of MySQL and/or PostgreSQL
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimisation
- Strong troubleshooting and production support skills
- Experience with CloudWatch monitoring and alerting
- Understanding of backup, recovery, and high availability concepts
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Baseline Clearance, or at minimum Australian Citizenship required
