Davidson Technology Consulting is seeking an experienced, hands-on Application Cutover Specialist
to support the detailed planning, coordination and execution of application cutover activities within a major banking transformation program.
This role is suited to someone who prefers being close to delivery: maintaining implementation schedules, coordinating dependencies, preparing runbooks, validating readiness and supporting deployment through go-live and hypercare. It is not a high-level people leadership role; success will come from strong attention to detail, practical cutover discipline and the ability to work effectively across multiple technical teams.
The opportunity
You will work across application, infrastructure, integration, data, testing, operations, vendor and implementation partner teams to help transition critical banking applications safely into production. The role has a strong focus on application support readiness, production transition and Fiserv-related banking capabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Build, maintain and continuously update detailed application cutover plans and implementation schedules.
- Coordinate application deployment, configuration, validation and production transition activities.
- Work directly with Fiserv, internal technology teams and implementation partners to confirm requirements and dependencies.
- Document application sequencing, prerequisites, decision points, rollback procedures and recovery requirements.
- Coordinate readiness across application, infrastructure, integration, data, testing and support teams.
- Validate production environments, access, interfaces, batch processes and operational procedures before go-live.
- Prepare, review and quality-check deployment instructions, validation scripts, runbooks and support procedures.
- Support cutover rehearsals, dress rehearsals, implementation simulations and go/no-go assessments.
- Coordinate smoke testing, technical verification and business validation following deployment.
- Track cutover risks, issues, actions and dependencies through to closure.
- Support defect triage, incident response and escalation during cutover and hypercare.
- Complete handover documentation and support transition into application support and business-as-usual operations.
- Provide accurate, timely status updates to cutover leadership and governance forums.
About you
- Approximately 5 - 8 years of experience in application support, application delivery, production support or technology implementation.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting or coordinating technology cutovers within banking or financial services.
- Practical experience with Fiserv banking products, platforms or capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of application deployment, production transition and operational support processes.
- Experience coordinating application, infrastructure, integration, data, testing and business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage detailed implementation activities, dependencies, validation requirements and rollback plans.
- Experience with production verification, smoke testing, incident triage and escalation.
- Strong risk, issue, action and dependency management skills.
- High-quality documentation, communication and stakeholder management capability.
- Ability to remain accurate and effective under pressure during time-critical implementation events.
Highly regarded experience
- Core banking, payments, cards, lending, deposits or customer servicing platforms.
- Fiserv implementation or support experience within an Australian banking environment.
- APIs, middleware, system integrations or batch-processing environments.
- ITIL, release management or service transition practices.
- Command centre and hypercare arrangements.
- Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow or similar delivery tools.
