About the Company

We are working with a state government client who is seeking experienced Principal Infrastructure Services Officers (School Maintenance Operations) to join their team which manages maintenance programs for educational facilities.

About the Role

This role will involves developing policies, strategies, and methodologies to ensure effective asset management and maintenance practices. The Principal Infrastructure Services Officer will be responsible for planning, evaluating, and improving maintenance programs for schools, staff housing, and early childhood education centres.

The ideal candidate will have a background in asset management, infrastructure planning, or a related field, with proven experience in policy development, program evaluation, and data analysis.

Key responsibilities will include;

Policy and Strategy Development

  • Develop and review policies, strategies, and program plans for maintenance management.
  • Propose improvements to programs based on evaluations and data analysis.

Funding and Resource Allocation

  • Create and review methodologies for allocating maintenance funding to schools.
  • Develop business rules and performance indicators to manage relationships with service delivery partners like QBuild.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead a small team focused on long-term planning and the development of a forward pipeline of maintenance work.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyse data from the Asset Life Cycle Assessment process to inform long-term investment strategies.
  • Produce high-quality reports for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management.

Strategic Advice and Correspondence

  • Provide strategic advice on asset maintenance policies to support lifecycle planning.
  • Prepare ministerial correspondence, briefing materials, and reports related to maintenance programs.
  • Strong skills in consultation, negotiation, and preparing high-level reports and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary asset management strategies and concepts.


About you

  • The ideal candidate will have a background in asset management, infrastructure planning, or a related field, with proven experience in policy development, program evaluation, and data analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate programs, analyse data, and develop evidence-based strategies.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and report on maintenance programs effectively.
  • Experience in leading teams and managing stakeholder relationships.


The Benefits

  • $83.74 per hour + Super (PAYG Agency Contractor)
  • Contract up to July 2027
  • Brisbane, CBD
  • Monday to Friday, Full time hours (36.25 hrs)
