We are working with a state government client who is seeking an experienced Principal Infrastructure Services Officer.


About the Role

As the Principal Project Coordinator, you will work directly with clients, or through service providers, to oversee multiple complex building projects from the planning and pre-design phase to practical completion.

The Principal Project Coordinator reports to the nominated Manager, Infrastructure Services Division.

Role 1: Principal Infrastructure Services Officer (A07)

The successful incumbent of this role will come into a team of three to manage early childhood assets.

This role includes:

  • managing planned maintenance, unplanned maintenance and minor works (capital); and
  • the uplift of the current roles in relation to process, contractor management and stakeholder management with the end user of the facilities.

    The ideal candidate will have background in:
  • Project management (infrastructure);
  • Change management.
  • Process development; and
  • Stakeholder management with diverse and complex stakeholders.

    Role 2: Principal Infrastructure Services Officer (A07)

    The successful incumbent for this role will join a team of two to manage maintenance programs such with swimming pools, roof safety and hydraulics (fire hydrants).

    This role includes:
  • Managing unplanned and planned maintenance; and
  • Review and uplift of existing processes, contractor management and stakeholder management with the end user of the facilities.

    The ideal candidate will have a background in:
  • Project management (infrastructure); and
  • Stakeholder management with diverse and complex stakeholders.


    Responsibilities include:
  • Undertake high level planning to develop the current packages for implementation with school and early childhood communities across Queensland to modernise and optimise school facilities.
  • Lead, manage and coordinate all aspects of project and program delivery including financial and human resources, initial planning, construction and commissioning of multiple complex projects within a legislative and contractual framework.
  • Lead and report against key sub-programs and significant projects within the Department’s Investment Program.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor critical relationships with clients, stakeholders and service providers for the purpose of achieving and sustaining a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement agendas, including the development of business plans and processes to promote best practice in service provision.
  • Provide high level support to unit managers by retaining an interest in creating, maintaining, renewing and improving built environments for the benefit of end users.
  • Prepare coherent and politically sensitive reports, correspondence and submissions to key stakeholders and clients.
  • Provide advice and guidance to other staff including administration and financial teams.
  • Support the work of other team members through mentoring and training opportunities.


    The Benefits

    · $83.74 per hour + Super (PAYG Agency Contractor)

    · Contract up to October 2027

    · Brisbane, CBD

    · Monday to Friday, Full time hours
