About the Company

Davidson is working with a state government client who is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer.


About the Role/s

This role will be working within the Business Services unit and will be part of the Vendor Relations Team.

· Undertake the strategic and operational delivery and monitoring of contracts and supplier performance on behalf of the Program.

· Provide high quality authoritative and accurate procurement leadership, advice, and services.

· Support and influence Program managers to adopt a contract performance management role in their operational relationships with third party providers, providing specialist leadership and advice to resolve contractor performance issues as required.

· Review and respond to performance metrics to continuously improve and optimise team outcomes.

· Deliver cost reduction commitments through the identification, development, and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.

· Contribute to the management of all higher risk activities and initiatives across the Program.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of standardised tools, practices and procedures that optimise procurement efficiency while delivering a targeted service to internal customers.

· Plan and execute vendor management strategies.

· Develop and maintain systems and procedures that provide effective procurement and contract management support for the Program, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement demonstrating public service professionalism and probity.

· Actively manage individual and team performance and provide supportive leadership to develop sustainable and capable procurement practices.

· Develop and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including Biosecurity Finance and Procurement Services to facilitate effective procurement outcomes.

· Please note that duties may vary depending on evolving program priorities and requirements.


About you


· Demonstrated experience in a similar role.

· Have strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.

· Able to plan and execute vendor management strategies.

· The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal History Check.


The Benefits

· $85.31 per hour + Super (PAYG Agency Contractor)

· 6-month contract

· Logan City Location

· Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
