AO7 Principal IR/ER Consultant

A large, purpose-driven public sector organisation is seeking a Principal IR/ER Consultant to provide expert advisory support during a period of increased complexity and demand.
This is a hands-on, senior role where your technical expertise and sound judgment will directly influence workplace outcomes.
The Opportunity
Working within a People & Culture team, you will partner closely with leaders to:
- Manage complex ER/IR cases end-to-end
- Lead investigations, discipline and dismissal processes
- Navigate conduct, performance and workplace disputes
- Provide authoritative advice on legislation and industrial instruments
- Prepare high-quality briefs, submissions and documentation
- Strengthen leadership capability in managing people risk
This role requires credibility, precision and the ability to operate independently in sensitive environments.
What You’ll Bring
- Deep expertise in employment and industrial relations legislation
- Proven experience managing complex investigations and disputes autonomously
- Strong written capability — briefs, submissions, formal correspondence
- Confidence advising senior stakeholders on high-risk matters
- Sound judgment, discretion and resilience under pressure
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
Public sector or similarly regulated environment experience will be highly regarded.
