Davidson are partnering with a Queensland Government agency to appoint an experienced Principal Governance Officer (AO7) to support the delivery and continuous improvement of governance, risk, and performance frameworks within a large, complex environment.
This role sits within a central governance function and plays a key part in strengthening strategic planning, risk management, and organisational accountability across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and enhancing governance, risk, and performance frameworks aligned with legislative and best practice standards
- Providing high-quality advice to senior stakeholders on governance, audit, and risk matters
- Supporting internal audit, legal and compliance processes, including RTI and insurance matters
- Preparing complex reports, briefs, and submissions for executive leadership and committees
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across planning, performance, and governance practices
- Building strong stakeholder relationships across government and facilitating a risk-aware culture
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in governance, risk, planning, or performance within a government or complex environment
- Strong analytical and strategic capability, with the ability to provide clear, well-informed advice
- Proven ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities
- Experience supporting or delivering governance-related projects and initiatives
