Davidson is partnering with a Queensland Government client to recruit three Senior Project Finance Officers to support a large and complex major projects portfolio.

These roles sit within a project environment and will suit finance professionals who enjoy working hands-on with project financials, analysing data and partnering closely with project stakeholders.





About the Role

Working within a small, collaborative finance team, you will support the financial management of major projects through accurate reporting, financial analysis and project cost management.

This is a highly practical project accounting role requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights.



Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and maintaining project financial structures and cost statements
  • Producing project financial reports, forecasts and variance analysis
  • Analysing financial data and providing concise insights and recommendations
  • Supporting project teams with budget monitoring and financial governance
  • Managing finance processing including matching purchase orders to invoices
  • Validating financial data and maintaining data integrity across systems
  • Preparing reporting for senior stakeholders and project leadership
  • Supporting financial risk identification and mitigation
  • Engaging with project managers, procurement and finance teams to ensure accurate financial oversight



About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Strong project accounting or project finance experience
  • Advanced Excel capability, including the ability to read and interpret formulas
  • Experience preparing financial reports and analysing project financial performance
  • Confidence working with large data sets and translating information into clear insights
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to ask the right questions
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment
  • A practical and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively within a small, agile team



Experience within major project environments will be highly regarded.
