About the Company

Davidson is partnering with a state government client to engage an experienced Senior Procurement Advisor to support its Policy, Planning and Investment (PPI) Division. The Division comprises six branches and approximately 1,000 staff, supported by a small, centralised procurement function delivering high‑value advisory services across the business.


About the Role

Reporting to the Principal Advisor (Procurement), the Senior Procurement Advisor will play a critical role in delivering professional, strategic procurement advice and services across the PPI Division. Working within a small, high‑performing procurement team, you will support a diverse portfolio of procurement activities, predominantly across Goods and Services, with exposure to ICT, Infrastructure and Building, and Capital Maintenance procurements highly regarded.

The role focuses on enabling compliant, value‑for‑money procurement outcomes while supporting senior stakeholders through complex and high‑risk procurement activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing timely, high‑quality and strategic procurement advice to senior leaders and suppliers in line with legislation, policies, procedures, delegations and guidelines.
  • Delivering strategic and tactical procurement activities to support divisional priorities and outcomes.
  • Supporting the development and establishment of Standing Offer Arrangements and Panel Arrangements.
  • Advising business areas on contract management practices and obligations.
  • Analysing procurement data to identify risks, issues and opportunities, and developing innovative procurement strategies to address them.
  • Maintaining high standards of probity, accountability and governance across all procurement activities.


About You

You are an experienced procurement professional who thrives in a complex, stakeholder‑focused environment and is confident providing advice at a senior level.

You will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience coordinating complex, high‑value and high‑risk procurement activities, ideally within large programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland Government procurement policy, standards, frameworks and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with diverse business areas to deliver effective procurement outcomes.
  • Well‑developed advisory skills across procurement policy implementation, strategic sourcing, contract design and contract performance.
  • The ability to support and influence business areas through change.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong commitment to probity and accountability.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong, trusted relationships across departments and with external partners.
