Davidson is partnering with our client, a Queensland state government organisation, to recruit an experienced Senior HR Advisor. About the Role
As the Senior HR Advisor, you will contribute to the effective management, development and performance of the workforce and strengthen business outcomes through high‑quality HR advice and service delivery. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, you will provide timely advice to management, employees and executives across a wide range of HR matters and play a key role in organisational reporting, workforce management and continuous improvement of HR practices and systems.
- Providing verbal and written HR advice to management and employees across a broad range of matters including payroll and leave entitlements, recruitment and retention, health, safety and wellbeing, employment contracts and conditions, workforce planning, industrial relations, and performance management.
- Maintaining knowledge of current HR policies, systems and legislation to ensure effective systems and processes, compliance, and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Analysing workforce data and contemporary HR practice to develop and implement strategic and operational HR initiatives, including organisational reporting.
- Supporting the implementation of effective workforce management strategies and whole‑of‑agency projects.
- Managing organisational programs focused on health, safety and wellbeing, including contributing to organisational health reporting and improvement initiatives.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, stakeholders and SME subject matter experts to support the HR team’s reputation and service delivery.
- Preparing and reviewing reports, submissions and HR policy and procedure documents.
This role reports to the Director, People and Culture.
About You

- Demonstrated experience providing HR advice across a broad range of topics including health, safety and wellbeing, recruitment and retention, workforce planning, performance management, and employment conditions.
- Strong knowledge and experience in HR management, policy, organisational change and development.
- Ability to prepare and deliver HR‑related reports, submissions and policy or procedure documentation.
- Strong consultation, engagement and relationship‑building skills with management, staff and stakeholders.
- Experience managing sensitive matters and applying sound judgement.
- Capacity to manage concurrent priorities and work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Knowledge of contemporary HR practices, employment instruments, industrial relations, and diversity and inclusion principles.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in human resources or a related discipline (highly desirable).
