We are working with a state government client who is seeking experienced Contract & Compliance Specialist.

About the Role

This role involves regular school visits to inspect and verify facilities maintenance, cleaning and other key deliverables against contract terms and service specifications. The role plays a key role in identifying and logging service or maintenance issues for timely rectification. The successful candidate will work as part of the team to gather necessary project information, ensuring data is collected and stored to required standards and within established deadlines.

The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

  • Plan and undertake school-based inspections and assessments using departmental checklists/standards and agreement standards across cleaning, buildings, grounds and various assets.
  • Witness and verify FM/maintenance and lifecycle works (servicing, repairs, defect rectification), at Schools.
  • Identify and escalate issues/non-conformances, assess risk and priority, track issues, and prepare concise evidence-based reports.
  • Monitor contractual performance against KPIs and response/rectification timeframes and provide inputs to abatements and performance discussions as required.
  • Validate and analyse asset/work-order data (FM/asset systems and Excel), reconciling field observations with system records and improving data quality and completeness.
  • Coordinate access and communicate effectively with Principals and other School contacts, FM operators, contractors, Project Co representatives and internal stakeholders to sequence inspections, resolve issues in school environments, and maintain accurate records.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in facilities/asset management, building services, engineering, building surveying, or contract management.
  • Proven site-based condition assessment and FM/maintenance oversight, with clear, evidence-based reporting.
  • Experience with Contract Facilities maintenance management service contracts (Deeds, Service Specifications, KPIs, response/rectification timeframes).
  • Proficient with FM/asset systems and Microsoft Excel; disciplined records/information management.
  • Strong stakeholder communication; able to work autonomously across multiple sites and tasks.
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • Open Drivers Licence – ability to travel during work hours for school inspections across Sunshine Coast, Logan, Ipswich & Gold Coast reas.

The Benefits

  • $77.80 per hour + Super (PAYG Agency Contractor)
  • Contract up to December 2026
  • Brisbane, CBD
  • Monday to Friday, Full time hours (36.25 hrs)
