AO5 HR Advisor – Workforce & Resource Management
An opportunity is available for an experienced AO5 HR Advisor to join a large and complex infrastructure-focused government organisation supporting a high-performing Engineering & Technical Services environment. This team plays a critical role in delivering major statewide infrastructure and operational programs and is seeking a proactive HR professional to provide workforce coordination, recruitment and resource management support across a dynamic portfolio.
This is a fast-paced and varied role suited to someone who enjoys balancing recruitment coordination, workforce advisory support, reporting, stakeholder engagement and operational HR activities within a structured government environment.
About the Role
Working within a collaborative Resource Management team, you will provide high quality HR and workforce support services to leaders and business areas across a technical workforce. You will assist with recruitment activities, workforce administration, reporting and advisory services while ensuring compliance with government policies, procedures and legislative requirements.
The role will suit someone who is highly organised, solutions-focused and confident managing competing priorities while delivering responsive customer service to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment and selection activities across multiple business areas
- Provide advice and support relating to workforce management policies, procedures and governance requirements
- Prepare and manage establishment documentation, recruitment approvals and workforce transactions
- Support onboarding, engagement and contractor administration activities
- Manage HR and workforce-related enquiries through shared inboxes and stakeholder requests
- Maintain accurate workforce records, documentation and reporting outputs
- Produce workforce metrics, dashboards and regular reporting to support operational decision making
- Assist with workforce planning activities and resource tracking across technical teams
- Prepare correspondence, briefing material and standard HR documentation
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support broader team projects as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience in HR advisory, workforce coordination or recruitment support within a large or complex organisation
- Strong understanding of HR processes, governance and workforce administration practices
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures and legislation to support operational decision making
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to service delivery
- Experience working within government or infrastructure/project environments will be highly regarded
Technical Skills Highly Regarded:
- SAP or similar HRIS systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Power BI or workforce reporting/dashboard experience
- Data analysis and reporting capability
- Experience supporting technical, engineering or project-based workforce
