If you are good at turning complex processes into clear guidance that people can actually use, this role offers the chance to make a practical impact across a large operational environment.
Davidson Executive & Talent is partnering with a Queensland Government department to appoint an AO5 Advisor, Real-time Network Management. This role will support improvements to the department's incident and disruption management processes. You will review existing practices, strengthen governance, develop clear instructions and create training materials that can be used by teams across Queensland.
You do not need to come from a technical or systems operations background. What matters is your ability to understand a process, identify what needs to improve and translate that into practical documentation, governance and training.
What you'll be doing
You will work with operational teams and stakeholders to improve the way processes are documented, communicated and applied.
Your responsibilities will include:
- reviewing and updating disruption management governance documentation
- developing governance documentation for planned events
- reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
- developing procedures, work instructions and supporting materials
- creating practical training content for system users
- coordinating the rollout of training across the state
- supporting workflow procedures and maintaining accurate documentation
- uploading and maintaining relevant materials in SharePoint
- supporting data requests as required
- working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure information is clear, accurate and fit for purpose.
Intrastate travel may be required to operational facilities.
What you'll bring
You will be comfortable working through detail while keeping sight of how processes affect the people using them.
We are looking for someone who can bring:
- experience developing training materials, procedures or work instructions
- an understanding of governance, risk and compliance
- strong attention to detail and a focus on data and document quality
- clear written and verbal communication skills
- strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- confidence working with a range of stakeholders
- a practical approach to continuous improvement
- the ability to learn new processes and systems without needing a technical background.
Experience working in government, regulated or operational environments may be useful, but your ability to develop clear governance, documentation and training will be particularly important.
The engagement
The proposed contract runs from 1 October 2026 to 25 June 2027, with the possibility of extension.
The role is up to 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with hours worked between 7 am and 6 pm. No resource is required during the shutdown period from 24 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, or on public holidays during the engagement.
If you enjoy bringing structure to complex processes and creating guidance that helps people work with greater clarity and consistency, we would like to hear from you.
