About the Company
Davidson is partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced AO4 Finance Officer
to join its Corporate Financial Operations team in Mt Gravatt.
This is a long-term contract opportunity through to 30 June 2027, working within a positive, collaborative and high-volume finance environment.
About the Role
This is not a traditional Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or transactional Finance Officer position. The role requires someone with genuine management accounting experience
who is confident supporting month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting activities.
Working as part of a busy Financial Operations team, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting month-end, budgeting and forecasting activities
- Preparing and processing journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Assisting with financial reporting and variance analysis
- Maintaining accurate financial information and records
- Working across financial systems, including TechnologyOne
- Supporting accounts, invoicing, corporate cards and general debtor activities as required
- Liaising with corporate and regional stakeholders regarding financial processes and requirements
- Ensuring activities comply with relevant financial policies, procedures and guidelines
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and ways of working
- Providing broader finance support during peak reporting periods
Additional hours may occasionally be required during busy periods such as month-end, forecasting and budgeting cycles.
About You
To be successful, you will have practical management accounting experience
and be comfortable working across a large volume of competing priorities.
You will ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience with month-end processes
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis experience
- Hands-on experience preparing journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Experience producing or supporting management and financial reporting
- Experience with TechnologyOne highly regarded
- Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector finance experience advantageous
- Strong Excel and financial systems capability
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately with high volumes
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
- An agile, collaborative approach with the ability to hit the ground running
