Davidson is currently partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced AO3 Payroll Officer to join a busy payroll services team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer or Payroll Administrator who is confident working in a high-volume payroll environment and enjoys providing accurate, customer-focused payroll support.
About The Role
As a Payroll Officer, you will support the accurate and timely processing of employee salaries, payments, deductions and entitlements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing a range of operational payroll transactions and employee changes
- Reviewing and verifying payroll information to ensure accuracy
- Processing salary adjustments, allowances, deductions, leave and other employee entitlements
- Interpreting relevant awards, agreements, legislation and payroll procedures
- Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and internal stakeholders
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records
- Preparing payroll correspondence and reports
- Using Microsoft Excel and payroll/HR information systems
- Working to strict payroll deadlines and service-level requirements
About You
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Administrator, HR Officer – Payroll or similar
- Demonstrated experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, employee entitlements, awards and/or enterprise agreements
- Experience using payroll or HRIS platforms such as Aurion, Chris21, SAP, TechnologyOne, UKG, Workday, Preceda or similar
- Aurion experience will be highly regarded but is not essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately to deadlines
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence responding to employee and stakeholder payroll enquiries
- Previous government or shared-services payroll experience would be advantageous
