We are currently seeking highly organised Administration Officers (AO3) to join a large Queensland Government program focused on protecting Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine your administration skills with technology, data management and operational support, contributing to one of Australia's largest biosecurity initiatives.

Working within the Operations Team, you'll support the Job Creation workstream by producing operational outputs for aerial and ground surveillance and treatment activities, maintaining high-quality data, and assisting with the creation of mapping and reporting deliverables.


About the Role

As an Administration Officer, you will play an important role in supporting operational teams by ensuring information is accurate, systems are maintained, and administrative processes run efficiently.

  • Providing high-quality administrative support across a busy operational environment.
  • Monitoring, maintaining and updating electronic records and databases.
  • Reviewing data for accuracy and identifying inconsistencies.
  • Producing reports and collating information for management decision-making.
  • Generating appointments and bookings to support operational activities.
  • Providing excellent customer service when responding to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participating in system testing, troubleshooting and continuous process improvement.
  • Supporting and mentoring new team members.
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge across multiple business systems and applications.

ArcGIS Experience - Highly Regarded

Experience using ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo Pro, or other Geographic Information System (GIS) software is highly desirable and will be viewed very favourably during the recruitment process.

Applicants with demonstrated GIS experience will be prioritised during the initial application review due to the nature of the role.


About You

  • Previous administration or project support experience.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working within a collaborative team environment.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence using multiple computer systems and learning new technology.

Experience within government, operations, logistics, project administration, GIS, mapping, environmental services or data administration will be highly regarded.

Essential Requirements

  • A current unrestricted Australian C Class Driver Licence.
  • The legal right to work in Australia.
  • The ability to successfully complete a Criminal History Check.

While no formal qualifications are required, qualifications or practical experience in administration, project support, GIS, environmental services or a related discipline will be highly regarded.


Training & Flexible Work

Your initial training will be conducted full-time from the Berrinba office for approximately three months.
Following successful completion of training, flexible working arrangements become available, including:

  • Up to two days per week working from home
  • The ability to work from one of several depots across South East Queensland, including:
    • Berrinba
    • Ipswich
    • Logan
    • Moreton Bay
    • Brisbane North
    • Brisbane South
    • Gold Coast
