About the Role
The Agile Lead will mentor, build and support cross-functional teams to deliver value and continuously improve their ways of working, and is accountable for delivery of prioritised business solutions taking into consideration time, cost and scope.
The Agile Lead will apply human centred design principles and agile practices to facilitate the delivery of solutions that meet user needs and deliver value.
Collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, day to day accountabilities will include facilitating workshops and supporting / managing agile ceremonies, coaching teams, maintaining a prioritised backlog, guiding various Managers, supporting streams from a resourcing and planning perspective, empowering teams to deliver efficiently and building an outcomes focused mindset.
Key Role Accountabilities
Agile Delivery
- Develop cross functional teams, fostering a high performing culture and embedding agile practices and methodologies to deliver iterative value to business stakeholders.
- Provide coaching, training and support to the team and stakeholders on agile ways of working to ensure consistency of agile application, high performance outcomes, continuous improvement and achievement of agile maturity.
- Manage the delivery of initiatives within the business including managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet user needs and deliver value.
- Determine fit for purpose way of working for delivery streams / projects by applying knowledge of Agile Frameworks
- Facilitate the delivery of business activities / projects including facilitating agile ceremonies, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives to ensure the successful delivery of business initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively to engage business stakeholders to optimise delivery of solutions to complex problems that maintain project focus on improving user experience and ensuring processes focus on delivering fit-for purpose solutions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings to variety of stakeholder; evaluate and report on activities and outcomes against business initiative / project objectives, engagement objectives and statutory requirements
- Accountable for achievement of agile ways of working, monitoring maturity through the use of relevant measures and controls.
- Using agile ways of working to achieve multiple business initiatives / project objectives, within budget and on time, whilst managing key interdependencies and balance competing demands and priorities.
- Establish trusted partner relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support TAC Strategy.
- Anticipate risks and problems and develop and implement strategies to manage, mitigate and resolve expected and unexpected events and issues.
- Provide status updates to Managers / Project Manager highlighting risks/issues and focus areas for improvement.
- Maintain currency with rapidly changing business and user needs and incorporating changing requirements to deliver outcomes that are fit for purpose and deliver customer value.
- Act as an advocate for agile methodologies across the organisation, championing the adoption of agile practices at all levels as appliable.
Key Selection Criteria
Relevant Qualifications, Work Experience & Specialised Knowledge
- Certified in Agile Frameworks such as Scrum, SAFE, LESS or other
- Strong prior experience as an Agile Coach, (Release Train Engineer) RTE, Iteration Manager, Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager.
- Significant demonstrated expertise in Agile delivery methodologies including but not limited to: ITIL, DevOps, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Design Thinking, Human Centred Design, Continuous Delivery and/or Rapid Application Development.
- Demonstrated experience in project management including planning, resourcing, scheduling & financials Leadership experience fostering a high performing culture and driving key business outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in using agile ways of working and human centered design to deliver customer focussed solutions Demonstrated experience coaching individuals and teams, including product owners in the adoption of an agile mindset and agile best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with strong customer focus and ability to understand issues, manage expectations, gain agreement, resolve conflicts and translate technical information into business language.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, including experience presenting at an executive level.
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills and an ability to think laterally to identify practical and workable solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, change management, conflict resolution and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
