About the Company
The Australian Marine Oil Spill Centre (AMOSC) is a not-for-profit subsidiary company of the Australian Institute of Petroleum (AIP) and has a membership base consisting of high-profile energy companies in Australia.
AMOSC’s primary purpose is as an emergency response organisation, providing resources to industry and government as a result of an incident in Australia’s marine environment. AMOSC owns and operates the industry’s major spill response facilities including stockpiles of spill response equipment and sub-surface intervention equipment. AMOSC’s permanent staff of 18 are available 24/7, and the centre relies on a core group of industry experts of 100+. AMOSC has multiple facilities located in Geelong, Fremantle, Exmouth and Broome.
AMOSC also provides training, advice, auditing, contingency planning and exercise management services to the industry, as well as representing the industry across a range of relevant forums and working groups. AMOSC drives good response practises across national and international organisations.
About the Role
As an Administration Officer at AMOSC, you will be supporting a vital organisation providing key specialist services and physical assets for marine oil spill response. Working closely with the CEO and Business Services Manager, this role will be responsible for ensuring the administrative tasks of the organisation are well-supported. There will be an internal focus on the day to day running of the office, alongside administrative support for assurance processes over AMOSC’s service delivery. During incident response, this role provides logistical and administrative support for equipment and people movement.
About You
This role would suit someone who is an experienced administrator and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Given the nature of the services and key role AMOSC plays in the industry, we are looking for a professional candidate who works well in a support capacity. Familiarity with the petroleum industry, or oil spill / emergency management related experience would be beneficial, however not essential.
Candidates with backgrounds in higher education, digital platform implementation, travel, or service industries are encouraged to apply. A willingness to learn, a can-do attitude, attention to detail and a commitment to adding value are essential qualities for this role.
