The Australian Resuscitation Council is a voluntary coordinating body representing all major groups involved in the teaching and practice of resuscitation. Since 1976, the Council has been committed to fostering, coordinating, and standardising resuscitation practices across the country. The Council develops evidence-based guidelines and provides education and training through national advanced life support programs.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Administration & Finance Manager will lead and manage finance, administration, and secretariat functions, playing a key role in enabling the organisation’s operational strategy and cultural goals.

You’ll oversee everything from budget management and financial reporting to system improvements and team leadership. With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and compliance, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality services while actively contributing to the Council’s broader mission.

The role offers flexible working arrangements with a hybrid structure. While based in Melbourne, the Council’s office is centrally located in the CBD, and remote work is supported as agreed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations and administrative functions to support strategic and cultural objectives
  • Manage financial systems, reporting, payroll, accounts, and compliance
  • Provide secretariat support to the Council, Executive, and project teams
  • Oversee systems development (CRM, LMS, course booking) and process optimisation
  • Support HR processes including role development, recruitment, and performance management
  • Drive continuous improvement and proactive risk management across operations

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in finance, operations, or business
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, ideally in the not-for-profit or member-based sector
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and implementing systems and process improvements
  • Highly developed communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, project management, and software platforms (Mac, MS Office, CRM/LMS)
