You will join a high-performing Communications and Media team that partners across the organisation to drive strategic messaging, enhance stakeholder engagement and support executive leadership.
About the Role
As Senior Communications Officer, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic communications and media initiatives aligned to organisational priorities.
Working across internal and external channels, you will provide expert advice to business areas, support executive stakeholders and ensure messaging is clear, consistent and impactful.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and executing integrated communications and media strategies
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Providing strategic advice and tactical communications support to business units
- Drafting high-quality content including media releases, talking points, Q&As and digital materials
- Coordinating speaking opportunities and supporting media engagement
- Monitoring and analysing media activity and providing actionable insights
- Driving innovation in communications approaches, tools and channels
This is a 12-month temporary opportunity based in Brisbane with hybrid working arrangements available.
About You
You are a strategic and confident communications professional with demonstrated experience in both communications strategy and media relations within complex environments.
You bring:
- Proven experience delivering strategic communications and media outcomes
- Strong understanding of government processes and approval pathways
- Experience working with ministerial, departmental and external stakeholders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
- Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to work autonomously
- A collaborative mindset with a strong sense of accountability and professionalism
