About the Company

Davidson is partnering with our state government client, who is seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Officer to join the Arts Property & Facilities (APAF) team within Agencies, Governance and Infrastructure at Arts Queensland. This is an exciting temporary full‑time opportunity to support asset and maintenance operations across the Queensland Cultural Centre and other owned and leased properties.


About the Role

As Senior Maintenance Officer, you will work closely with the Manager, Contracts and Maintenance to support the effective delivery of the annual maintenance works program. You will play a critical role in coordinating maintenance activities, managing contractors, ensuring compliance, and maintaining safe and functional cultural precinct facilities.

  • Work closely with Queensland Cultural Centre (QCC) stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of the annual maintenance works program, including both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate the procurement and ongoing management of maintenance services contracts, consultants, and contractors.
  • Implement and manage procedures to audit contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, safety practices, specifications, QCC site protocols, codes of practice, legislation, and Australian Standards.
  • Apply facilities and asset management principles to support asset lifecycles, maintenance strategies, technical advice, and the preparation of briefs, submissions, and project reports.
  • Manage emergent operational and safety risks, including routine and unplanned breakdowns, outages, or identified hazards, by coordinating principal contractors and other engaged contractors.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance progress against time, cost, and quality requirements to ensure delivery within budget and schedule.
  • Analyse, interpret, and resolve operational issues, engaging with the broader team and management to provide timely and accurate solutions.
  • Maintain accuracy and reconciliation of maintenance management systems, financial reporting systems, and records management platforms.
  • Ensure consistent record keeping and prepare for audit reviews related to maintenance records, certificates, asset registration, and plant or equipment registration.
  • Participate in the on‑call roster and support maintenance activities during non‑core working hours as required.


About You

  • Experience in the procurement and contract management of complex, multidisciplinary maintenance service contracts.
  • Strong ability to build effective working relationships and communicate well with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well‑developed written communication skills, including experience preparing minutes, briefs, technical reports, and budget documentation.
  • Proven experience in managing planned and unplanned building maintenance, ideally supported by trade qualifications or tertiary studies in a building or engineering‑related field.
