Our client is a large government organisation responsible for delivering critical infrastructure projects that support communities across Queensland. They are seeking an experienced Communications Advisor to provide strategic communications support and foster positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
About the Role
As the AO5 Communications Advisor, you will provide expert communication advice across a portfolio of major infrastructure projects. You will develop and deliver communication strategies, manage stakeholder engagement activities and support effective community and media relations.
- Providing strategic communication advice, including communication planning and risk assessment.
- Developing and delivering stakeholder and community engagement initiatives.
- Managing media enquiries, public relations activities and emerging issues.
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with government agencies, project partners, contractors, community groups and internal stakeholders.
- Planning and coordinating communication activities and events.
- Ensuring communication activities comply with relevant governance frameworks, policies and legislative requirements.
About You
- Experience in strategic communications or community engagement, ideally within major infrastructure, construction or engineering environments.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive correspondence and media communications.
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Experience developing and implementing effective community engagement strategies.
Desirable qualifications include:
- A degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing.
- IAP2 (International Association for Public Participation) Engagement certification.
