Davidson has released its FY2025 Environmental, Social and Governance Report, outlining progress across social impact, environmental responsibility and governance. The report reflects a year focused on building stronger foundations for sustainable, values-led growth across Davidson’s recruitment, advisory and technology consulting businesses.

Building the foundations

During FY2025, Davidson formalised its first Board-approved Environmental Policy, advanced initiatives supporting First Nations communities and strengthened enterprise risk and cybersecurity frameworks under ISO 27001 certification. Together, these measures provide clearer structures for how ESG priorities are governed and progressed.

Community and First Nations impact

Davidson’s long-term partnership with Yalari has now delivered more than $614,000 in financial, pro bono and in-kind support. In FY2025, Davidson was recognised with Yalari’s Jimbelungare 20th Anniversary Award, acknowledging a relationship that has continued since 2007.

Davidson also provided more than 100 hours of pro bono strategic advisory support to First Nations enterprises Crystal Ailan and Yurringa Energy, applying the organisation’s professional capability to support community and enterprise outcomes.

Practical environmental action

Davidson donated 10 laptops to Deadly Coders to support Indigenous STEM education and recycled a further 34 devices through PhoneCycle. The organisation also progressed work to establish an emissions baseline, providing a stronger evidence base for future environmental targets and action.

Supporting responses to homelessness

The report includes a strategic homelessness initiative aimed at enabling 500 supportive housing units by 2032, with the ambition of contributing to a reduction in rough sleeping. This work reflects Davidson’s focus on using partnerships and professional capability to support complex social challenges.

Governance and accountability

Strong governance underpins the report’s ESG agenda. Davidson recorded 2,176 hours contributed to governance activities during the year, alongside continued work on ethical leadership, risk management, cybersecurity and accountability.

The FY2025 report brings these activities together so progress can be assessed more clearly and future priorities can be built from a more transparent baseline.

Artificial intelligence has moved quickly from experimentation into business operations, customer experience, decision support and product development. As adoption grows, so do the questions around governance, ethics, investment, data, security and accountability. That is driving interest in a relatively new executive role: the Chief AI Officer, or CAIO.

Executive leadership roles carry significant responsibility. CEOs, Managing Directors, General Managers and Executive Directors are expected to set direction, navigate uncertainty, lead people through change and maintain the confidence of boards, customers, employees and communities. For organisations, finding the right leader is therefore about much more than matching a CV to a position description.

Even a sound strategy does not guarantee successful execution. Implementation reaches across organisational structure, systems, processes, leadership behaviour, people practices, culture and values. That creates plenty of room for a gap to emerge between knowing what needs to happen and being able to make it happen consistently.
