Job Description

With an extensive and treasured history, this care services provider is moving into a new and exciting chapter of growth.

To support the ongoing evolution and expansion, they seek to appoint a highly capable, experienced and passionate leader who is eager to motivate a dedicated team of Disability Support Workers who are providing quality care and support services to both residents at their residential accommodation.

Your primary focus is on advising and supporting each of these staff members to ensure an engaged culture, continuous development of each member and the highest level of care for residents.

About the Role

Based in a warm and relaxed residential setting, your role will include (but not be limited to):

  • Supervise, train and support Disability Support Workers by
  • Onboarding and induction
  • Coaching staff to assist participants in capacity building
  • Sharing accumulated knowledge and experience with peers and team members
  • Ensure staff comply with policies and procedures for workplace health and safety
  • Participate in training and professional development activities
  • Undertake risk assessments and develop work plans
  • Ensure staff maintain up to date and accurate case records
  • Undertake performance management plans and records
  • Regular reporting of accurate statistical data
  • Be on call after hours for emergencies - including participating in roster for emergency on-call coverage

About you
The ideal applicant will have the following skills and experience:

  • Formal qualifications in human services and/or extensive experience in the area of disability
  • Excellent staff leadership and supervision capabilities
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a caring disposition
  • Ability to review, update and implement process
  • Genuine values aligned with this values-driven organisation
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Blue Card and Yellow Card
